Many supporters believe that efficiencies can be gained through consolidation, with minimal or no impact on services. The community visibly has mixed feelings. Interest in a Wantagh-area skateboarding park (similar to that in Baldwin) has surged. Many believe that such a park would be beneficial since it provides a safer and more controlled venue for the sport. Opponents to the park express concern over safety and liability issues. Nevertheless, it is apparent that a strong majority in our area favor a skateboard park. Controversy surrounds Donald J. Trump's local tax exemption on his Restaurant and Catering Hall at Jones Beach. Although those opposing the Trump deal have been vocal, many in the community appear to disagree with Mr. Levinson, or are undecided. One Wantagh businessman stated that "Mr. Trump did what any good businessman would have done. I would jump at the chance to open a business without paying local taxes."
